Travel Responsibly

The Mountains Give. Give Back in Return.

Respect Local Communities

The villages along these routes are home to real families, not backdrops. Ask before photographing people, support local guesthouses and shepherds' yurt stays, and learn a few words of Kyrgyz — even a warm Salamatsyzby opens doors.

Pack It In, Pack It Out

Kyrgyzstan's high passes and alpine lakes have no waste collection infrastructure. Whatever you carry in — wrappers, bottles, batteries — carry it all back out. Leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Future trekkers (and the wildlife) will thank you.

Permits & Protected Areas

Several routes pass through national parks or require border-zone permits — notably areas near Khan-Tengri and the Talas range. SUIUNBAI ODUSHOV notes requirements where known, but it's your responsibility to verify and obtain any permits independently before setting out.

Tread Lightly on the Land

Stay on marked trails where they exist, camp at least 60 metres from water sources, and avoid cutting through pasture or sacred sites. The landscapes you're here to experience only stay wild when we treat them that way.

Route information on SUIUNBAI ODUSHOV is provided for inspiration and general guidance. Conditions change — always cross-reference with local guides, current weather forecasts, and official park authorities before departure.
